Race training weekends

Training and Preperation

Our race training weekends are designed to offer an opportunity to go training and racing on performance race yachts such on either Venomous or Incisor and the itinerary allows you to try all aspects of sailing these exciting yachts. From helming to fore deck to trimming to navigation.

Sailing these yachts is very much a team effort, therefore there is a place for all abilities to learn new skills and expand on those skills already learnt.

The itinerary for the weekend is to arrive in Cowes either on Friday night at your leisure, then you may sleep on the boat, or you may arrive early Saturday morning.

Once everyone has arrived, the skipper and crew will show you around the yacht and give a full safety brief.

The aim during the day is to get as much action in as possible, with crew changing positions throughout the day to find the best fit, with the course set to go around the Isle of Wight weather permitting. The course will not only take us into clear water but whatever the direction of the wind you will be able to experience all points of sail, from upwind to the exhilarating reaches.

Sunday will see us entering a local club race to see how we fare against other more experienced crews with skills learnt.

You do not have to have any sailing experience prior to the weekend but it helps if you are relatively fit and enthusiastic.
