St Vaast Race
JOG Cowes–St Vaast Race
Friday 23rd May – Sunday 25th May
The Cowes–St Vaast Race is the second cross-Channel race of the JOG Offshore calendar, taking place over the late May Bank Holiday weekend. This much-loved race sees the fleet head from the Solent across the English Channel to the charming French fishing port of St Vaast-la-Hougue.
The Friday evening start launches crews straight into an overnight offshore passage, with a full watch system in place to ensure everyone performs at their best throughout the night. It’s a fantastic opportunity to experience night racing, offshore teamwork, and navigation in tidal waters.
St Vaast is famous for its busy fishing harbour, where moules and chips are a must with a friendly waterfront atmosphere. With the port accessible only at high water, precision navigation and tidal timing add an extra layer of challenge to this rewarding race.
After a well-earned celebration ashore, the Sunday cruise home to Cowes provides a relaxed opportunity to consolidate the skills and teamwork developed during the race.
