Campaigns
Long Distance Ocean racing requires a higher standard of sailing ability to enter and compete but this is not beyond the reach of even a novice provided they undertake suitable training.
At Windward Sailing we mount campaigns to enter such races that include training weekends and qualifying races in order to mould a crew with the necessary skills to compete safely and competetively. Each will involve between 3 and 6 weekends of sailing during the few months before the actual race itself.
With races such as the infamous Fastnet and the Bayona race across the Bay of Biscay, these are not pleasure cruises. THe Round Britain race in 2000 was not called "the Ultimate Challenge" lightly.
We are keen to see people undertake these ( and other) challenges and will offer help and advice to crews who wish to mount their own campaigns, either Bareboat charter with one of our Cruiser/Racers or Skippered Charter on any of our racing fleet.
